Lynda STAUB, employee of Winnipeg Land Titles office "STRESSED" over personal finances, in light of her spouse, (alleged by his wife as an opinionated alcoholic ) not having worked for over 3 - 4, as well as the ensuing years...
Mother, Jeannette Van Steelant supported the Staubs for years and years, as confided to a family member, quoting Jeannette Van Steelant "you would not believe how much money I have given them over the years, you just wouldn not believe it!"
Step-father Robert Van Steelant, of Stonewall, claims Lynda Staub would drop by to her mother's house almost daily, after work, for "hand-outs" or cash, and the conversation would "end" when her step-father would walk into the room.
Lynda Staub had a key to the house, mailbox and access to her mother's personal finances with which to use the power of attorney granted by her trusting mother.

Lynda Staub stressed over car purchase & cancelling daughters' monthly education fund.
Lynda Staub confided in investment advisor to sad state of her finances. Concerned about spouse finding out how deeply in debt the Staubs actually were. Lynda & Bob Staub took out a loan against whole life insurance policy. Lynda Staub used mother's credit and pledged mother's car for a loan without mother's knowledge or consent. The Staubs maxed out mortgage on family home, property donated by Bob Staub's mother. Mortgage previously $50,000 in 1997 now maxed out. All family gatherings held at the Staub's (because of larger house) paid for by mother, according to Jeannette Van Steelant - food, liquor, etc. For their mother's wedding in 2000, Lynda and her siblings allowed their mother to work to "exhaustion" for weeks, cleaning-up, painting, installing a side door, generally fixing-up the garage to hold the after-wedding reception, with an evening of non-stop mosquitoes "biting" by the campfire, this as opposed to a proper small reception hall to accommodate the large extended family and to alleviate additional stress put on her mother for her special day as finances were not an issue whatsoever - additional stress which may have brought on the cancer which took her life... It is alleged Lynda Staub and siblings were concerned about dipping into "their" inheritance if money spent on Mother's wedding as that was focal argument in their argument in court and basis for charging their sister and putting an illegal and contestable "No Contact in Manitoba Order" in 2006 against her, with the aid of Crown McDuff who was pressured in bowing to family pressure, (Andy Bouchard & Lynda Staub), a statement she admitted in tears to Lionel Bouchard years later. |
