Very little notice - Obituary posted in the Winnipeg Free Press for one day only....
Posted mid-day online for any out-of-towners looking for this announcement.
Lionel Bouchard loved flowers, plants ~ yet NOT ONE flower was present at his funeral...... No wreath......Only one inconspicuous urn ~ Lionel's ashes ~ as a lasting memory...OF HIS LIFE....
Lionel Bouchard was treated disdainfully in death ~ same as in life ~ by his children of Manitoba & Wisconsin & Lloydminster....Certainly not the Catholic Biblical tradition of "Honoring your parents" - one of the Ten Commandments which religion they were raised to follow - of which obeying and confession was part of their early lives ~ obviously no longer based on all their actions...
Catholic Mass held mid-morning at St. Paul's Church n Winnipeg, inconvenient for senior friends & family to attend IN MID-WINTER...yet the intenment occurred immediately after the mass & luncheon, in Lionel's hometown of Elie, ...where more long-time members of the community could have attended the service.
For sentimental reasons, Lionel Bouchard would have preferred his Celebration of Life take place among ALL his friends ~ made impossible by the deliberate despicable snub to members of the Cartier Municipality whom Lionel had served all his life, as grader operator, where he was well known in the community.......
