Lionel Bouchard admitted at trial that there was no assault!  In fact, Andy Bouchard had driven his father to the RCMP Detachment in Headingley to force his father to lay a charge against his daughter to ensure that she did not assist their father in upholding his rights to his life estate and to the mortgage due to him by Andy Bouchard!

From this point on, Andy Bouchard & Lynda Staub abused the legal system in 18 unfounded complaints, numerous other false charges to keep their sister out of Manitoba. 

Andy Bouchard then had their mother (heavily medicated on morphine) charge her daughter with "attempted kidnap" to take her down to the cancer clinic in Houston, Texas, this after Jeannette (Bouchard) Van Steelant signed a letter authorization this trip to a clinic that boasts of a 93% cure rate where this sister had previously taken their mother in 2005.  These siblings, more interested in their mother's estate than her life, discouraged their mother from continuing treatment that proved effective in her fight against cancer!  The charges were stayed.  What remained was breach for coming to visit mother in Manitoba after judge erred in revision the No Contact against father to now disallow personal contact with mother in Manitoba, contact which he allowed over the telephone, by mail or out of province but not in Manitoba - as the request of FAMILY - Andy/Lynda/Claire who feared being stopped in their plans to evict their father and mention was made they wanted to issues over estate - meaning they were already factoring their mother's death and at the time their step-father was not aware that Lynda Staub had her mother vary her will and give power of attorney to her husband away from her after Lynda Staub transferred her mother's property into her name illegally. Infuriated at being deceived, Robert Van Steelant reported the fraud to RCMP in Stonewall and had to had to sue Lynda Staub at a cost of $21,000 to regain his property......
