Andy Bouchard stated on the release document at the Headingley RCMP that his sister Marlene Légaré was:

                -    of no fixed address,
                -    a flight risk,
                -    mental issues
                -    prone to violence, etc.

to prevent bail when she went to deal with two arrest warrants instigated by her father and sister's false assault charges, charges his father admitted in court did not occur.

Andy drove his father to the Headingley RCMP and had his sister Lynda Staub lay against Marlene in order to:

             - discourage her from assisting her father
             -  to force her to drop the theft charges against
                Andy Bouchard after Andy stole both his father
                and sister's cellular  phones on January 29,
                2006.
