Grandson & Granddaughter Eliott Johnston, Natalie Chabot Rich (Béatrice née Bouchard -Chabot's daughter), Doris (Gervais) Thorimbert - sister to Jeannette.

The "broken" rose depicts a life snuffed out early - not naturally....by greed-driven children more concerned about their inheritance - Robert Van Steelant's property gifted to their mother - than saving her life.......

In our opinion, Jeannette Van Steelant went to her grave prematurely.....Jeannette's life could have been spared had she returned to the cancer clinic which had amazed oncologists. Jeannette was talked out of returning for her life-saving treatment by three of her children in Manitoba and the other daughter, an X-ray technician in the States....and the daughter who agreed to return with her was arrested for "attempted kidnap" of her mother to save her life and forced to await trial for four months in Winnipeg/Portage Remand - only to have the charges "stayed"....this after Andy Bouchard carried his mother into the Stonewall RCMP station to have his sister charged so she could not assist both their mother and to assist their father Lionel Bouchard to be returned to his home that he had been unconscionably kicked out of after 50 years of living on the Bouchard Centennial Homestead in Elie, Manitoba!

At his mother's funeral, Andy Bouchard told his cousin that "we did all we could for her".  If he did "all he could" why did Andy Bouchard go against his Mother's wishes to return to the Burzynski Clinic in 2006 with her daughter as in 2005, for medication not yet available in Manitoba?  To ensure his Mother died, Andy Bouchard has his sister arrested at the Winnipeg Airport to prevent his Mother from boarding a plane scheduled to take her to Houston, Texas, to save her life!

If  that were the case, why did Andy Bouchard, Lynda Staub & Claire Demery discourage their mother from continuing treatment in 2005, swearing her to secrecy - to not tell "Marlene"?  Treatment which had proven effective to the amazement of her oncologists? 

In October 2006, why did Andy Bouchard & Lynda Staub, & Claire Demery have their sister of B.C. arrested and charged with "Attempted Kidnap of their mother"?  This sister who was following her mother's instructions and had written consent from her mother to book a flight to take their mother once again, as in 2005, to the Burzynski Cancer Clinic - Houston, Texas.  This sister was then forced to sit in Winnipeg and Portage Pretrial for nearly four months awaiting trial to have the false charges originating from these siblings "stayed"! 

One of the drugs  being administered in Texas was "avastin"  - finally approved in Manitoba in mid-December 2006 - albeit too late for Jeannette Van Steelant...who died January 3, 2007, after suffering incredibly and needlessly for months and months....in part from blockage in the stomach from a needless operation in Mexico which Lynda Staub and Helene Johnson (an X-Ray technician in Big Bend, Wisconsin), who holidayed at this Usana-related spa resort at their Mother's expense, an operation to justify the $41,000 price tag to a third world country and then sent home with wheatgrass to die.....

In spring 2006, after the cancer returned, Lynda Staub and Helene Johnson at a cost of $41,000, whisked their mother down to Baja, Mexico, at a multi-level Usana-founded experimental facility Lynda Staub associated with.

Both Helene Johnson and Lynda Staub enjoyed nine days at their mother's expense at a spa setting overlooking the ocean while their mother underwent a needless operation which blockage in her stomach contributed to her death, was detoxed, and sent home with wheat grass to die....

On October 17, 2006,  upon learning Jeannette expressed her wishes to return to the Burzynski Clinic, Andy Bouchard, Lynda Staub and Claire Demery had their mother discharged from the hospital to ensure that she did not catch her scheduled flight to Texas.  Jeannette Van Steelant died January 3, 2007,
after being denied her request for a chance to save her life at the renown Burzynski Clinic in Houston, Texas.....

Andy had his sister charged with "attempted kidnap" whereby she was forced to await trial for four months, only to be have the charges "Stayed".

In the RCMP video statement, Andy who had literally carried his mother into the Stonewall Detachment, to lay charges against his sister to ensure his mother did not go back to the Burzynski Cancer clinic whereby, in all likelihood, Jeannette Van Steelant would still be with us today.  Jeannette at the time had deliberately been heavily medicated on morphine!

Not once in the interrogation at the Stonewall RCMP did Andy Bouchard ever express concern about his mother's health to the RCMP - rather spoke at great length about R.R.S.P.' and other monies, accusing his sister of stealing $10,000 cash from his Mother's home in Stonewall - a statement later recanted....

Rather Andy discussed R.R.S.P., claiming his sister had stolen $10,000 cash from the house, all the while making false vexatious cold-hearted false accusations as to what had occurred at the farm house which he relayed to his siblings to avoid being questioned for his actions in the first place.  The statement was later revised whereby that large sum of money was accounted for.

In the RCMP video, clearly "coached" by Andy Bouchard, it is blatantly evident that Jeannette Van Steelant was far from being lucid, many of the statements made no sense whatsoever, evidence that Jeannette was totally confused in
the majority of her facts to the point Andy is heard correcting his mother on details which she was mixing up with other facts. Marlene was not allowed to see the transcript until after the charges were stayed or she would have had more ammunition to work with had her lawyer provided her with the information...

Jeannette Van Steelant, in being questioned, and coached by Andy Boucahrd, referred at one point to her "deceased mother as if in the present" as well as other confusing facts attested to by anyone who knew Jeannette Van Steelant, but not to strangers who did not know the family.

The accused, due to unavailability of equipment, was denied her rights and not privy to this video and statement until after the trial whereby the charges were stayed!
